I tried a code which implements
1. an Oracle Stored procedure.
2. retrives resultSet from the database
and assignes a String variable with a column value.
I was using a Win NT machine 266 MHz. Compaq.
With JDK 1.2.2 ms
1. The stored procedure 7200 7321
2. ResultSet retrieval 59826 59906
With JDK 1.1.8 from IBM website
1. 7701 6499
2. 41229 4489
The 2 test was much faster using IBM jdk.
I cannot be sure about the exactness/validity of these tests and the enviroment that they were run on.
But I did it out of curiosity that previous postings said about IBM's JVM being much faster.
I was wondering if there is a downloadable version for Sun Solaris. ( I did not see one)

I agree. Here's the link: http://aspose.com/file-tools

It's not a secret anymore!
