when Jdk1.3 was released they claimed that it is 30% faster and Swing is 50% faster.I have an application on jdk1.1.8(Quite big)
uses swing extensively.I dont find any difference at all.
Even the memory usage improvement was claimed, but in this case it is using a little bit more.
can any one clarify, as to where jdk1.3 is fast

I believe that the claimed speed increase was compared to 1.2, which was very slow. I still use 1.1.8 for a lot of applications as it is a good, robust, small, fast JDK.
