what are the the current techniques/tools on program/software monitoring?
Tools available in the market, and other system doing so or any techniques like exception handling

All I can say is that there's a banner ad at the top of the page for something called JMyra. Surely any company clever enough to advertise on JavaRanch is extremely cool .
