Java performance on difference systems

Did anyone know the performance of JDK 1.4.x on different operation systems,like Solaris,Linux,FreeBSD and Windows? It seems the muti-threads performance on Solaris is better than other systems?Is that right??

Performance can differ from platform to platform. Regarding threads, Windows & Solaris implement threads differently (depending upon the version). You have to be more specific about your question, i.e. what kind of application you are using, if it would lend itself to a 64-bit rather than 32-bit environment, etc...
