Hello ,

i want to know if there is any better library available(open source / less cost), than "i-text" , As i have been using this library for some time and found that the object creation on using this library is relatively high ... please any one let me know of a better/optimal library available that can be used for viewing the PDF, the feature that is required is that the User viewing the PDF should not be able to save the PDF on his local machine , but can only print the PDF .

Don't you think that people will want to view PDF files with the standard Adobe viewer? Or are you talking about the various encryption related restrictions that can be placed in a PDF document?

I'm assuming that you're using iText to dynamically create PDF's; personally I don't know of any better ones to use that offer the same amount of features.

You might want to take a look at http://jasperreports.sf.net/ - don't know wether it fits your needs, though.

I used to work for a company having applet based digital paper document viewer. Actually it performed quite well anfortunately the company gave up in favor of Adobe. So currently I use Acrobat with plug-in which connects to my servlet and provides requested functionality as applying security, print out limitation and so on.
