Which one gives good performance Horizontal Clustering or Vertical Clustering ?

Both. I suppose ultimately a horizontal cluster should be better because you are chucking more physical resorces at the problem. Of course, as with every performance question, it really depends on the specifics of the problem you are trying to solve.
