Option Edit Page disappear in the toolbar

My problem is that when I login to portal server the option Edit page in the toolbar is diappear. The problem like this in the toolbar having option
New Page,Edit Page,Assign Permission,Search must be there but when I login to the portal screen I did not find the option Edit page and all othet options New Page,Assign permission,search are displayed.Can anybody help me. Please provide me solution as soon as possible.
