I have experience with ATG portal framework for the last two years. I am surprised to see that ATG is not that popular(someone doesn't even know if ATG exists) in the east side of the world(Asia). ATG is also pretty expensive when compared to other competitors. And it does not have that much resources such as online articles and samples to play around with. But it does provide a lot of samples and documentations in the bundle. There is no book available for ATG App Server in particular, while you can easily find ones for BEA's and IBM's.

Just my $0.02.

Thnaks

Hi,

I have actually got a job whose profile is :

Work on java/J2EE which will use ATG and Weblogic .

Now I have a doubt that is ATG an Application Server only , if yes then how we will be using the 2 application servers at the same time ?

Thanks

Hi Jim Jam,
ATG has not only an application server but also many other enterprise solution. You might want to take a quick look at the solutions provided by ATG on its website.

I guess
Work on java/J2EE which will use ATG and Weblogic.

should be
Work on java/J2EE which will use ATG or Weblogic.

If not, they might be using two app servers at the same time and transferring the requests to an appropriate server during the processing. I might suggest you to shoot an email to the company about it.

If I am in your shoes, I will just assume that it is an 'or'.

Thanks Ko Ko Naing.

Ya I will definitely shoot a mail to them.

If the application server would be only ATG then would you like to comment how good is the job profile and also may I know the future job prospects of ATG ?

I know its quite an uncertain market but if you can share your experience with me , it would be greate to make my decision .
