Hi all,...
Firstly i am a newbie when it comes to portlets and portals.

I created a testing portlet application and i could run it in RAD with Websphere Portal Test Environment 5.1

Then i created a portal application, added the portlet app WAR file to portal app EAR file, added all the portlets to the portal application.

My question is can i run a Portal Application, in Websphere Portal Test Environment(WPTE) 5.1 ?? because when i try to, the server throws some problems when trying to start and fails in running..

I appreciate your comments on this.

The WebSphere Portal Test environment is a great place to run and test portlets, but it is finiky.

SOmetimes if the test environment has hot method replace enabled, it will fail. You might want to disable this. Also, make sure you are pointing to the right server in the Windows-Properties section of the server configuration. It's been a while since I configured the server, but I recall you have to point to a stub or something.

I have a bunch of tutorials on how to create WebSphere Portlets here:
