How to open a ajax panel from a portlet

I'm developing a search portlet. and i want the results to open in a new page. i want to use ajax to avoid the calling page to refresh ?

Is there a way to do that ?

Another question: does anybody knows hoe the people finder works in websphere portal. You click on an icon that a "slide" apears .. its really cool.

There aren't many rules that you need to worry about here on the Ranch, but one that we take very seriously regards the use of proper names. Please take a look at the JavaRanch Naming Policy and adjust your display name to match it.
