Hi,

Can anyone explain me what is Web Clipping and how it works. Any working example. I have already read material available @Ibm info center and publib.boulder.ibm.com.

Why not just watch this free multimedia tutorial that actually shows you how to do web clipping with WebSphere Portal Server!

Tutorial on Performing Web Clipping with WebSphere Portal Server

Basically, it's like screen scraping. You tell the server to grab a certain part of a web page that already exists, and the server will then take that content, and make it available within a portlet window.

I followed your link it was really good material, but I am getting following error while provding URL.

[6/26/08 11:03:30:511 IST] 68ded536 PortalServer E org.apache.jetspeed.portlet.PortletLog error (Servlet.Engine.Transports : 0/main)
** ContentAccessCommand doExecute() ** -> The content for the base URL http://www.Perficient.com/contact.asp could not be retrieved! - StackTrace follows...
[6/26/08 11:03:30:527 IST] 68ded536 PortalServer E org.apache.jetspeed.portlet.PortletLog error TRAS0014I: The following exception was logged java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect

What is the exact reason for this error. If I use http://localhost:9090/admin URL its working fine but other then this URL I am getting same error.

Looking forward for your help.

LOL...So you're trying to do the same example and you're getting that exception? I did that tutorial when I worked for a great company named Perficient, a number of years ago. I'm sure they've changed their website since then. Try clipping JavaRanch.com instead (purely for tutorial purposes, of course). The page has to exist.
