Spring Portlet MVC &/ JSF

1, 1&1/2 years back I was doing extensive portlet development using IBM Websphere portlet api, and later on jsr168. After an year's hiatus and some work on netui beehive I am happily back to developing portlets with jsr168.

Some search on the net and looking at the posts on JavaRanch, JSF seems to be HOT for developing portlets. I also noticed references to Spring portlet MVC (with support for annotations).
A] Is anybody using these two technologies (spring mvc & jsf) together?

B] Also I see very few instances of JSR286 being used, wondering why is that?
c] Which JSF-JSR168 portlet bridge will help seamless transition to JSR301 when it is out?

In short I am looking for the minimal set of technologies which will ease portlet development & maintenance...
