i have made a simple client server appl. in which the server is a simple Java program , the client is an Applet. but it is unable to do so if the client-server are on two diff. machines(The client is unable to connect to the server socket) . if they r on the same machine using the loopback address( we r able to communicate .on two machines if the client is also a simple Java program (i.e. no Applet) it is able to communicate .
whats the error .

The Java Ranch has thousands of visitors every week, many with surprisingly similar names. To avoid confusion we have a naming convention, described at . We require names to have at least two words, separated by a space, and strongly recommend that you use your full real name. Please log in with a new name which meets the requirements.
