Hi,
I am new to socket programming, I would like to know how much I/O activity or resource consumption (CPU etc) will be there if client application is connected to the server all the time, waiting for response and there is no data transmission ...
Socket client = new Socket(server, port);
// ... waiting for input from server
while (true)
{
line = is.readLine();
...
}

Thanks.
