Raw Socket In Java

My project is Intursion Detection System, I have to sniff a network and find out possible attacks on host system. For that i need a raw socket which accepts all protocol packets. I looked at many books but i couldnt find it. Help.

Looks like Java does not support raw sockets.
I am in the same situation with you. I may switch to C.
