Hi all,
I need immediate help. My web server is IIS where only I have a folder access. Now I have to build an applet which can open socket to another unix server(sun) and display the results of a query which will execute with only one argument from user (html/java applet). Is there any solution ...
by writing java applet. I can't use server side socket/ java cgi(3rd party).

If there is any other solution like pl or other pl. let me know .

I need it very urgently.

Hi,

Welcome to JavaRanch!

By default, applets are blocked from opening connections to servers other than the one they were loaded from, but that restriction can be lifted if the applet is digitally signed. Head over here and check out the chapters on security to learn about digital signatures for applets.
