problem debugging an IMAP email listener

I have an email client written in JavaMail with capabilities to poll a POP3 server and listen to an IMAP server. Both these servers are part of the Argosoft mail server implementation.

Now the problem is that email listener (configured to the IMAP folder inbox) doesn't seem to be working for new messages incident on the IMAP server folder INBOX. Even I can't debug the mail client as the breakpoints added to the public void messagesAdded(MessageCountEvent ev) method don't seem to be hit at all.

I can provide the code snippets but before that I'd like to know if there's something I'm missing or there are some other checks that I can make.

Any suggestion/pointers would be highly appreciated.
