I am creating a Scoket on a port (9830).
The program creates the socket successfully.

Now I use an applet (in browser) to connect to this socket.

I am getting the following error:

Connecting to Connection timed out: connect
at Method)

at<init>(Unknown Source)

The application is hosted on a linux environment.

The same code works fine on my PC.

Could anyone let me know what could be the reason for this error.

Thanks & Regards,
