Has anyone worked through the example in the RMI tutorial by Wollrath & Waldo at Sun's website? I am having trouble setting the codebase, hostname, and security policy properties. Help please!
I couldn't follow their tutorial at all. They don't explain policies very well, and they forget to mention that the service interface file must be accessible to rmiregistry. Hi, Michael Can you recommend any good RMI tutorials?
Most of the ones I like are in the introductory chapters to books on Jini. We teach Jini and Jiro both at Sun Ed this way, by starting off with making sure everyone gets RMI right.
