hello, I'm interested in developing some sort of distributed computing/processing client. Things like handling complex computational problems using a number of machines to get faster results. So i started reading about JXTA, and I feel that this is the way to go to achieve this. Having a JXTA client on a number of machines to do some sort of processing. Something like a tiny version of Distributed.net But i also started reading about Jini, and how it somehow has the same capabilities. So can some one please tell me whats the correct way of doing this? I read somewhere that JXTA is more suitable for the internet, while Jini is for Intranets. Any ideas reagarding both approaches, comparisons, would be appreciated. Also if some one has a field or idea on which i can use distributed processing. I thought about brute force decryption, and some sort of distributed database queries. Any other good ideas? Thanx [ June 26, 2003: Message edited by: Melanie Parker ]
