In my Application both Server & client are running in the same box. I am using RMI server. W2k prof OS.

Intially my client is starting smoothly. At some instant it throws

'java.rmi.ConnectIOException: Exception creating connection to:; nested exception is: No route to host: connect
at sun.rmi.transport.tcp.TCPEndpoint.newSocket(Unknown Source)'

and the client application hangs.

This is also not consistent. It happens in a particular box only.

If i try piniging it responds.

From another reference, i came to know that it also happens if the protocol is disabled. How can it get disabled automatically?

Or Is there may be any issue related to OS installation or Network Configuration.

Can anyone help me?

Hello RameSan.
in the API:
Typically, the remote host cannot be reached because of an intervening firewall, or if an intermediate router is down.

Review your network environment.
If you try do you experience the same?
