Fast forward almost three years later in this
thread...
I am working through chapter 18 in Head First
Java and also cannot find the MyRemoteImpl_Skel.class file that was supposed to be generated by rmic. Contributer Edward Harned said that rmic is no longer needed to create stub files. Does that mean that stubs - and skeletons - are not necessary for successful RMI, or is RMI itself no longer necessary? Is the information on RMI in chapter 18 no longer valid? Without a generated skeleton class, I don't see how I can get the samples to work.
