Hiii Actually when i am starting rmi registry. on the console of rmi registry i am getting the message that :security properties not found. using defaults.
what does it mean...its starting properly or not...
And when i am trying to run my client i got some exceptions which are:

Exception in thread "main" java.rmi.NotBoundException: addservice
at sun.rmi.transport.StreamRemoteCall.exceptionReceivedFromServer(Unknow
n Source)
at sun.rmi.transport.StreamRemoteCall.executeCall(Unknown Source)
at sun.rmi.server.UnicastRef.invoke(Unknown Source)
at sun.rmi.registry.RegistryImpl_Stub.lookup(Unknown Source)
at java.rmi.Naming.lookup(Unknown Source)
at AddClient.main(AddClient.java:6)

where is the problem....

Is this on a particular App Server? Or is this you starting up RMI on your own?

I think this is about you starting up RMI on your own, so I am going to move this to the next forum Distributed Java which covers RMI questions.

Thanks

Mark

The registry is a java program itself, so it needs the same parameters as any other java application.

Without seeing the exact message, I can't guess what the problem may be.

Also, without some code, I don't know how you did the bind. Look up the API on java.rmi.NotBoundException
