rmi NAT firewall problem

Hi
i am working on a project where the server is behind a natfirewall. the client outside the firewall can connect to the server when the server is started with the option -Djava.rmi.server.hostname= xx.xx.xx where this is the ip address of the NAT from outside. the needed ports are open on the firewall and forwarded to the actual server. when the clients connect to the NAT ip address, the connection works fine. now i have the problem that clients from inside the firewall cannot connect anymore. as the serveraddress does not work due to the -Djava.rmi.server.hostname and the xx.xx.xxx NAT address can not be called from the inside !! is there a way to fix this ? how can i connect to both clients from inside and outside a NAT/firewall ??

thank you for help
