RMI interface created using Java 1.5, how to use in 1.4?

I have an RMI interface which compiled using Java 1.5(Which has <template> def in it)

How can we use this RMI in Java 1.4

Is it even possible to do that? I think you need to recompile it with Java 1.4 to use it.
