I'm curious as to what everyone is using JSF for? Are these commercial apps? Are they internal apps for your employer? Are they personal apps for whatever reason?

I work on an app for where I work and am using JSF. Everything else I do with it is typically personal for learning purposes as well as for helping out people on javaranch with questions.

I am using JSF on an existing application for a big company. The existing application has several hundreds of JSP files filled with scriptlets and business logic, needless to say there's a lot to be done.

So right now we're formulating a new more sound programming model that will result in more maintable code, by using jsf for the presentation layer and business logic placed behind a web service layer.

I am developing a large commercial application as the primary product for a startup software company who will deliver the application as a hosted service to customers.

Needless to say with some of the bu... I mean quirky features in JSF developing a commercial grade application with it has it's challenges.

I am using JSF to redesign an existing large (thousand of pages) client-server commercial application for a big company. To speed and simplify the redesign process of the user interface, originally developed using a RAD tool (PowerBuilder) we have developed a large set of custom components (some new components and many extended ones) to emulate those used in the legacy product.

The financial company I work for just began the migration from Javascript/JSP to JSF. I, the summer intern, am for some reason leading that migration... and that is a scary concept.

How about option three....both. Learned to use it at work, then decided to use it to build a site of my own.

Used for a commercial insurance product which is already in production. More parallal non-JSF products (already in production) are destined to go JSF way.
