Im using custom tags in a facelets/myFaces project, and cant figure out how to get eclipse to recognize my custom tags. For example if I type <t: then control space the tomahawk tags show up with code complete. Ive got my custom tag working and defined in the namespace, but cant figure out this last step.

You probably need to create a normal TLD in additional to the Facelets taglib file, IDE's aren't that facelets friendly!

No luck. I tried creating a tld file and put it in my WEB-INF directory. Below my tag-class is empty. I did this because this is how jsf-ui.tld is set up. I also without luck, I tried putting my tag class here. I must be missing something.
