Hi,
I am developing aproject using Standard JSF RI and apache myfaces trinidad tag libraries. Now in my project , uptil now I have been providing the error messages inside an h:messages component. It displays page level messages added in a message queue.

However, now my functionality requires me to put an astreik(*) corresponding to every error field and on pointing to it The error message should appear in tooltip.

I tried putting h:message tag corresponding to a h:inputText tag. I had set the validator attribute of the inputText to a validator method .
As well as I had put the tooltip attribute on h:message to true. But every time there was a validation exception the message was simply displayed. However nothing appeared on the tooltip.

As well as the error fields need to get their backgrounds coloured in yellow.

Now any body out there got any idea about how to get across at least the first requirement or both of them ??

You can use style attribute in the message tag for setting the background color.
