Probably time for me to point out again that JSF, like
Struts,
JSP,
Servlets and any other HTTP-based system (Java or otherwise)
cannot initiate any processing directly. HTTP can only
respond to external web requests.
Quartz can be used inside a webapp to run work threads on a schedule, but it can't be used to do something like push a web page out somewhere, only do things that affect data available when someone or something out there makes a request.
The secret of how to be miserable is to constantly expect things are going to happen the way that they are "supposed" to happen.
You can have faith, which carries the understanding that you may be disappointed. Then there's being a willfully-blind idiot, which virtually guarantees it.
