Hi all,

I'm new to Hibernate. Can someone suggest some gud tutorials on it?

Also, please comment on the book 'Hibernate in Action' by Christian Bauer, Gavin King

Thanks in advance for the help...

Have a look at the example application (CaveatEmptor). It is for Hibernate 2, but covers a lot of basics that will be relevant to Hibernate 3.

Hibernate in Action is useful. Again its Hibernate 2, but covers the theory well. In my opinion though, you don't need much beyond the basic documentation, plus maybe some time reading common threads in the Hibernate forums.

I started to learn Hibernate with

Hibernate: A Developer's Notebook
By James Elliott

Publisher: O'Reilly
Pub Date: May 2004
ISBN: 0-596-00696-9

Covers Hibernate 2, but I found it a good intro. Walks you through. Haven't gotten to reading Hibernate in Action

If you are just starting out, you might like to check out Hibernate Quickly.

The reality is that there's a steep learning curve at the start with Hibernate even with a book designed to help you get started.
