I'm looking to get started with Hibernate and was wondering if someone could suggest a good tutorial for an absolute beginner?

I guess it would depend on what you were wanting to do with hibernate, there are so many areas one can specialize with how it is used (i.e. on it's own, with springframework)

I can recommend the hibernate project's wiki:
http://www.hibernate.org/37.html

They have have links here to examples for how to use specific features.

Here is a tutorial I created for basics. It also contains good examples. http://www.deepakgaikwad.net/index.php/2009/03/14/complete-hibernate-tutorial-with-example.html
