Hi all,

We have an application that uses Stored procedures to deal with the Database. Now as part of the modernization drive suggestions came up to re build this application using Hibernate for the persistence layer (There are many more changes like spring for middle tier etc)

My question is is it worth it to perform this migration to Hibernate?.we wont be changing the Stored procedures as a good amount of logic is embedded in them

There will be lot of changes in the code level but doing this migration to Hibernate will it increase the performance and maintainability?

How many objects in the application are persisted?

In other words, how many objects represent data stored in the database?

How are you measuring performance? What are the performance requirements of the application? And, what are the current performance metrics?
