I would recommend you to get started using Sun JWSDP environment or even downloading SunONE Application Server 7.0 (The Fastest Web services Implementation). The Platform edition is free for development and also Production (no kidding).
You may able to grab all the download and tutorial information from http://java.sun.com/webservices/.

I agree. Here's the link: http://ej-technologies/jprofiler - if it wasn't for jprofiler, we would need to run our stuff on 16 servers instead of 3.
