Hello there,
Probably this is as straightforward as not being able to get throught a firewall. But am have written a servlet that consumes the Amazon web services. This works fine if I test if from my PC but setting it up the same way on my university box it give the java.net.ConnectionRefused error. Could anybody let me know why does this happen and is there a way to circumnavigate this.
Cheers
Jack

Jack,
if you are behind a firewall, you have to set proxy setings in your application.
set java system property http.proxyHost and http.proxyPort and give a try.
