Hi,
Do we generate Java interface from a WSDL file or generate WSDL from a java interface. I feel that 2nd approach is cool.

What does WSDL2Java from Apache Axis does?

please read "WSDL2Java: Building stubs, skeletons, and data types from WSDL" from http://ws.apache.org/axis/java/user-guide.html
Simply it can create client code to access service specified in wSDL file or it can be used to generate the java framework of server-side(generates a model of how the server code is implemented)

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
