Hi all,
I would like to know which is the best book for WebServices. Is the "Developing Java Web Services" by Ramesh N (Wiley) better or is the O'Reilly Web Services book by Monson Hafael better? The Javaranch Book Review Team has given the former 9 horseshoes & the latter 8 horseshoes.I have also heard of Professional Java Web Services (Apress) .Ranchers, please comment.I need to buy one soon.

I'd recommend J2EE Web Services by Richard Monson-Haefel. I have only read parts of it, but so far it looks great!
Developing Java Web Services is also good.
Whichever book you choose, make sure it discusses relatively new versions of the Web Services APIs...

I just browsed through the book J2EE Web Services by Richard Monson-Haefel on amazon. The book's contents are very good. However, does anybody know, if this book is avaialble in India? Atleast it's foreign edition?

Nope, me from aamchi Mumbai.Anyway as I said in my earlier post, the Monson Hafael book is not available in the Indian edition. The foriegn edition costs Rs 2400/- something which is out of reach of lowly paid Indian workers like me.So we have to wait until the Indian edition comes out or start preparing for the JCWSD from the slightly outdated Developing Java Web Services (R Nagaapan) coz it covers JWSDP1.0 & the excellent Sun tutorial.Pradeep you are from outside India , I presume?

I have never been out of India. I am from Bangalore.
I had won the book in javaranch. Lucky me!
The Sun tutorial is good for but not good enough for the exam.

If, in the future, you come across a "free" electronical copy of a book, it's best to check that the same book is freely available from the publisher's website. If it isn't (they usually aren't), you're most likely dealing with an illegal copy. Especially if the file format used is .doc...

I am really sorry, I did not know that it was an illegal copy, I found it and wanted to share it with other ranchers.
Sorry again....

Ok, I found from where the book was created.
You will have to subscribe to Safari Online Books
However through Devx Premier Club it costs only 9.99$ amonth, but you can take a month free trial(that will be enough to preapre for the exam).
I think this is much better than the pirated version.
