Can one compare Web Services to using postal services when needing to think about whether it's needed ? So if the organisation uses post, then definiteky Web Services would be needed. RSS for internal mail. Web Services for external posts. [ April 26, 2004: Message edited by: HS Thomas ]
Almost, but not quite. RSS sucks as a communication protocol... I would rather say "RMI, Jini, or web services for internal communication, and web services for external communication".
I believe Sun have said that they will be starting to use RSS for internal communications. Sun Adopts RSS Sun's plans to adopt RSS (Really Simple Syndication or RDF Site Summary) as a fundamental transport for developer communications and community building.
