By bundling apache axis jars and your applet jars you may be able to call a webservice through httpconnection.. you may get an access denied or security error.. so signed is better.

I am able to use applet to consume web service and use on my local machine. When I am trying to communicate to a web service from a server I am getting access denied error. Can you guide me how to sign my applette. Is that is the only reason i am getting access denied error?
Thanks

Are you downloading the applet from a server different from where the web service resides? If yes, then you need to sign your applet because otherwise the applet is restricted to making network connections only to the same server it was downloaded from. At least that's what I remember about applets (haven't written one in many, many years).
