Hi guys,
I managed to install Axis on Tomcat4.0 and its workign ok. But i just need to write a client to connect to the Service.do i still need tomcat for that?im confused right now. Can u give me some guidelines as how do i write Client in Axis? I need to connect to an existing WebService which is supposed to be in axis.
any examples or guidelines would be appreciated.
thanks so much,
Sachin

Most of the webservice will have service descriptor file called WSDL. Apache Axis has a tool called WSDL2Java which can generate all the necessary client stubs for you to access and get the service results.

if your client is java application, then you don't need tomcat for just consuming the webservice

Hi Balaji,
My client is a java app so no probs.I did as u said and generated the necessary Clients etc. but which is the main Class?
Which file do i have to invoke? do i need to create a Main Class and then call one of these files?
im really confused here so pls help me as im running out of time and they have just given me 2 days to finish it.i never had any knowledge of SOAP before.
Can u post some sample code to invoke these files?any info would be highly appreciated.
