How to create my first (real) Webservice

Hi,

Is there a way to learn to create a simple Webservice in Java?

Unlike .NET, which seems like a piece of cake (from what I've heard, anyway), Java seems to be a more difficult environment.

A book I have Java & XML for Dummies has a somewhat outdated reference for creating a Web service.

Can anyone recommend a good current book to get started that actually starts at the beginning for creating Web Services?

Thanks in advance!!!
