I want to know if partial marshalling and unmarshalling is possible using JAXB.

i just want to marshal and un-marshal particular node in the xml.Is that possible..

I think it is possible. You should try it out.
Different JAXB Providers will support marshalling invalid Java content trees at varying levels, however all JAXB Providers must be able to marshal a valid content tree back to XML data

i tried partial unmarshalling...
but it gives an exception in SaxUnmarshallerImpl, which is internally used by jaxb.

Any hints to make it work.
