Hello there! I'm in the middle of a pre-SOA project. In our first stage we're developing the services in a basic layer, using only decoupled services, that are mostly atomic. On our second stage we're going to use a BPEL Engine to orchestrate the flow of some process (Oracle Process Manager ou jBMP for this). One question that the customer is always concerned is: how do they find out which application uses it's services. In a federated env. we might have a few dozens (if not hundreds of applications, legacy, in-box, house made), and most of the services we're building are sat on top of their Cable controller system (it's a cable TV company) so, the idea is to have all those EIS applications interact with the WS.
I really don't know how to answer this, how can I provide a full report of who is using the services in the company?
I have designed a sample business process using the weblogic integration platform 8.1. I am interested in actually creating a business process using BPEL. Any pointers on how I can harness BPEL with this and realise how it extends the Web Services interaction model and enables it to support business transactions would be helpful.
