About a year ago I got the Axis/Jetty combo working with the versions that where available then. This was mainly to satisfy my own curiosity as to whether it was possible to use Axis with an embedded webserver inside of a "stand-alone" application. Haven't done anything with it since. I wasn't aware of the "embedded mode" for Tomcat back then - but I think Jetty still has a a significantly smaller footprint than Tomcat.

AFAIK, there's no reason Jetty can't support Axis. There seems to be plenty of references through Google to that setup. (I use Tomcat myself, so I don't know firsthand, but...)
