Note that the title is 'Analysts see Java EE dying in an SOA world'. The article also states that Enterprise Java is not threatened. While the Super Platforms (Java EE) are threatened, Enterprise Java will continue to thrive with the Rebel Platforms (e.g. Spring/Hibernate/Eclipse). In fact the Rebel Platforms are even making an impression in the .Net world (e.g. Spring.Net/NHibernate).

Very few organizations will benefit from SOA as it is proposed by the Super Platform Vendors (see SOA antipatterns). Fortunately more reasonable visions of SOA are starting to emerge (e.g. What is SOA, really?).

My point was to hear what you guys think. I am glad some people here have not lost their sense of humor yet.
