Webservice with Tomcat

Hi ,

Am new to Web Service . I read web service related topics , such as SOAP, WSDL and UDDI.

I have to select only open source Software . So I selected Apache tomcat Server.

So please Can you explain what are the software required for web service .
Where its available and explain with small example .

As to your question, Axis is a web app that implements all the major WS functionalities (well, SOAP and WSDL anyway - UDDI is rarely used). It comes with a number of example services and service clients.
