Is this new or has MIDP been available for PalmOS for a while, I do not remember seeing it on the Sun site.

Actually there have been experimental KVMs for Palm for quite a while, but the final version just came out in October - I guess they had to wait for the CLDC and MID Profile specifications to settle down.

Thanks Bill.
Would you now use MIDP for Palm or something that gives direct access to Palm native functions like IBM Visual Age Micro Edition. I am concerned about performance with MIDP.

Bill,
Any thoughts on whether MIDP is now OK for Palm regarding performance, and functionality.
Thanks,
Rob

MIDP for Palm does NOT offer serial support. As for performance, I haven't seen any benchmarks, but from the applications I have built using the beta edition and now the 1.0 edition (just came out), I can't complain as the environment is extremely limited.

I agree. Here's the link: http://aspose.com/file-tools
