Wireless Advice?

I'm interested in developing Java applications/services for wireless devices. I'm guessing this is the place to go and I'd like to ask for some advice...
Without starting a reilgious war, would someone like to suggest a device (wireless PDA, cellphone, etc.) to target? I'm not sure of the exact services my app/service will provide, but I suspect it'll be used mostly by consumers and (I think) be provided by a retailer or company for use within their building/office space.
Thanks,
Burk

Hi;
As there are many mobiles phones in the industry and of course all of them have different specifications.. Because of this reason they deploy some extensions for standard java.microedition classes.
But it is best to write your application by using standard CLDC 1.0 profile.Thats what i do.
Cheers;

Oh yes, I forgot to mention one thing... I'm in the U.S. which means that there's not as much to choose from. Seems like we're way behind Japan and Europe when it comes to wireless Java & Java phones.

Ercan,
What sort of applications have you written? How's the market?
If you use CLDC, does it auto-magically make your UI fit the phone/device?

Hi Burk;
Currently i have been working on multi-player games and stock management tools. I also use some Nokia API extentions..
I believe that a few years after there will be a huge potential for the wireless java business.
Of course it is not easy to find a lowest common denominator solution but many devices support standard CLDC packages.
So how about BREW? As i read lately Sega has revealed a new deal with Qualcomm, which will enable BREW phones to play Sega games..What do you think about it? Is there a big potential?

Ercan,
I saw something about BREW, but I haven't looked into it yet. I'll google around a bit, but I'd appreciate it if you'd post any particulalry good links you know of.
Thanks,
Burk
