I'm a little confused about something. I was just reading about the push registry in MIDP 2.0 and apparently if two different midlets are both using the push registry, and listening on the same port, then only the first midlet that was registered will get launched? If so, this doesn't seem like a very good solution to me. Do I understand this correctly? Drew
i think what u need is the CBS(cell broadcast service). this enable messages to be broadcast to multiple devices, if i understand ur question correctly. pls let me know if i m wrong. i m still new to j2me hope this helps. [ August 27, 2004: Message edited by: chai ]
I actually think that the second application will not be allowed to be installed because the port is already reserved by the first application. That is written in the MIDP 2.0 specification Chapter 7 on the javax.microedition.io package.
sorry bout the name. can't the CBS be use??? since its purpose is to broadcast messages to multple devices. [ August 27, 2004: Message edited by: chai ]
