I am looking to change the view of the midlet to be in a landscape view instead of the normal portrait.

Any ideas how to implement it?

Draw it sideways?

I don't think you have any choice in the high level GUI api.

If you have to have it landscape you would have to make CustomItems and use Canvas. But still not sure if it is 100% possible.

What i am trying to do is to allow the my midlet to give the user the option to view it either vertically (normal view) or horizontally for cases where the screen is long and prefer that view.

Are there any built in methods that i can use?

Additionally the midlet only contains text screen like a command prompt and some menus for options.

I looked up some places for anything on it and found nothing but i know there are some games for phones that allow the person to play it horizontally and some phones that have that view as a default but wondered how to implement in using J2ME.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

They are definitely using the Canvas and Drawing it all themselves. However, looking at the API's I can't find any methods, Constants, or other ways to do this. Your Test could be images that you create in a Paint Program and just display them, but for actual user entry I don't see a way.
