Just curious about the <unregistered> tag. Who exactly can post without registering?

Some of our forums used to allow unregistered posts, but no longer do. E.g. the Meaningless Drivel forum - that's probably what Ravish is talking about. Now this forum here, I thought we were still allowing unregistered posts, because one of the legitimate uses of this forum would be for people to post saying that the registration system wasn't working. (Which hasn't been an issue for a long time, but you never know, it could return...) However I see that at the moment, this forum doesn't allow unregistered posts either. So I'm not sure what's going on yet; I've mad einquiries. Where (which forum) did you see something about unregistered posters, Jeffrey?
Regardless - if a forum does say that unregistered posters are allowed, then essentially anyone can post, without registering. After all if they're not registered, how would we know who they are anyway? (Well, we can block IPs, but that's a different matter.) Hope that helps...

Ah. Yes, Jobs Offered still allows unregistered posts, because we wanted to make it as easy as possible for potential employers to post, even if they don't yet understand our rules here. Special case.

Yes. But only a cad would actually do so. Except for job offers, of course, although most of those are are by recruiters. QED......
